LOS ANGELES — Even the acerbic Aussie Alex O’Loughlin knows when to speak softly and carry on with very little shtick.

The moment arrives when he’s asked about the American TV institution called Hawaii Five-O. O’Loughlin has signed to play the role of Hawaii state police Det. Steve McGarrett, defined by Jack Lord in the classic 1960s cops ’n’ robbers series that ran from 1968 to 1980.

But he’s hesitant to divulge much about the modern makeover, or offer his critical impressions of the original show, which featured a stylized brand of acting and lots of location filming in Hawaii. “I’m not really sure how much I should say,” admits a diplomatic O’Loughlin during a recent chat promoting the Jennifer Lopez romantic comedy, The…

#H50 – The Seven Year Itch

Good by daniele and grace we will miss you

Alex O´Loughlin ~ An Intense Study

The sevenyear itch is a psychological term that suggests that happiness in a relationship declines after around year seven of a marriage. The phrase originated as a name for irritating and contagious skin complaints of a long duration.

The phrase has since expanded to indicate cycles of dissatisfaction not only in interpersonal relationships but in any situation such as working a full-time job or buying a house, where a decrease in happiness and satisfaction is often seen over long periods of time.

#AlexOLoughlin …. no best in acting.

Hes the best

Alex O´Loughlin ~ An Intense Study

My thoughts

  • Although I agree with Alex about the “no best in acting”, I do however think that there are definitely those who are better than others – And he is definitely one of those better ones …..
  • And also there are those who are more dedicated to their craft and who are ‘in the moment’ when they do their job in order to make every chance they get to be a character, be a memorable one.

Alex O’Loughlin is having a Day of Birth.

“I think I’d freak out! I mean, it’s a big deal,” [laugh]. “Talk about a life-long commitment. A ring and a set of vows is one thing, but another living being is another, especially if it’s not your child.”

Alex O’Loughlin, HollywoodCrush, MTV, April 2010

All of us experience our own lives, but apart from photos and video we never really witness anything of our life. Even less when we are born. Our conscious mind can’t even recall that moment; much less have any visual memory of it.

We have seen Alex on two occasions, being witness to a birth in the roles he played and after both, he took on the responsibility of parenthood, although they were not his biological children.

In The Incredible Journey of Mary Bryant we have Mary giving birth to Charlotte, on the ship to Australia with Will witnessing the miracle. They say the best…
